Suralco Integrated Closure Planning (ICP) Project

The project has involved the development of a Framework ICP process and pilot closure program, over a two-year period (2010-2012), to address the unique challenges presented by 75 years of bauxite mining in Suriname. The framework process was implemented for the closure of an additional nine sites between 2012-2015. Following Alcoa’s decision to exit Suriname, the ICP process has been restarted in August 2017, as a formal negotiation tool between Suralco and the national government. This new phase of developing mine closure plans is being led by Environ-Mining through the provision of project management and technical services related to the natural environment, social condition, stakeholder engagement and physical closure of a number of bauxite mines.

Yenipazar ESIA

This is a polymetallic (gold/silver/lead/zinc) deposit located in Central Turkey. The project has completed its Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) and required an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) to accompany the BFS for project financing. Working with SRK Turkey consultants, Environ-Mining complied an ESIA report for financing purposes.

IAMGOLD – Integrated Closure Planning (ICP) Workshop
